Dear Ah Guan,
I am also hoping Takeshi-San would be able to do both movies. Sounds most likely that Takeshi-San is going to be in the Ferryman. That' would be great! After Chungking Express (1994), it will be great to see the three of them reunite on another modern drama-comedy more than 20 years later! A testament to the career longevities of these three, which are based on their quality works.
Really like the fact that the original story is from a book with a huge built-in fan base, and some funding are even being crowd sourced. More younger fans will get to know his work I hope. Since Takeshi-San selects his project based on scripts and people involved, these more commercial considerations are bonus benefits.
Of course, I do also hope he could be in the remake of Man Hunt. I looked up the original Japanese movie from the 70s, it was still a very good and exciting movie. It would be great if Takeshi-San can play a manly character with brains and chivalry. he hasn't played a character like that before. Two very different roles, we can still hope.
Best,
