in these days I've watched Fallen Angels (and, on Tv, Ip Man too, because someone talked about this movie somewhere in the forum) for the first time

well, this is not my favourite genre of movies, but in these same days I've watched also the first movie of a friend of one of my friends (she is 40 now, in her first experience as a director)... a movie of the same genre, it has only a less 'dark' atmosphere

To be honest, I don't understand what directors find in this type of movies...

in my opinion, the spectators can have serious difficulties to identify themselves with such extreme characters and to love them

in fact, her movie has been saved only by a really good actor, who interpreted the character of a 'gigolo' (who believes to be a sexual therapist and in the spare time a mechanic) with such irony to make it particularly likeable

However, Fallen Angels is considered a real masterpiece, according to many reviews

I've particularly appreciated mr. Kaneshiro's capability in combining violence and sweetness in one character, so to make it complex and faceted

I like also the kiss scene very much

it's a pity it has not been included in the movie
